West Virginia Federal Credit Union is a nonprofit financial cooperative serving the residents of Boone, Cabell, Kanawha, Lincoln, Putnam and Wayne counties in West Virginia. We obtained our community charter conversion December 14, 2000 and now our field of membership consists of persons who live, work, worship or attend school in Boone, Cabell, Kanawha, Lincoln, Putnam & Wayne counties, in West Virginia, along with businesses and other legal entities therein.
Our community credit union is owned by our members and managed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by our membership. Our primary purpose is to provide excellent member service, convenient financial tools, and financial security for our membership. Your savings at West Virginia Federal Credit Union are federally insured to $100,000.
West Virginia FCU has been providing comprehensive financial services since October 1965 when we were founded by Joseph Taylor a Union Carbide Corporation carpenter. Originally we operated under the identity of Tech Center Employees Federal Credit Union serving select employee groups, the majority of which were comprised of Union Carbide Corporation employees, retirees and families.
